Project #1-The Door Scene

January 2008

We are going to try to do something a little different this year in our film class. Over the course of this class you will keep a collection of video projects that will be posted on your wiki's portfolio page for this class. The files will be uploaded to a portfolio page that you create on your wiki and you will also write a project reflection on the page.

Your portfolio should have the following elements:
1. A table of contents page that has a link to each project handout.
2. A course portfolio page that will contain a video, a reflection, and the evaluation rubric for each project. A link to your course portfolio page should be included on the top of your table of contents page.
3. A link from your table of contents page and portfolio page back to the Digital Media Production course wiki page.
4. Your course portfolio should be neat, easy to read, and up to date. It will be evaluated periodically.
5. Your portfolio must also include a learning reflection for that particular assignment. Please write a paragraph that summarizes your experience with the project. In your paragraph, include a few sentences regarding what the project was all about. Then answer the following types of questions: What are some key skills and techniques that you learned in working on the project? What were some challenges that you experienced? What did you enjoy about the project? What would you do differently if you could do it over? What would you do to make your film more understandable? You certainly are not limited to these questions in your reflection of the project. See Alex B's portfolio page.
6. No copyright protected audio files may be used. This means that you can't take a track from a CD that you own or your iTunes music library and incorporate it into your project. You may create your own audio loop in garage band though. If one of your projects does include an audio file that you purchased, remove the file and use Garageband to mix a different audio loop.
